	I painted this watercolor from a photograph, after my first trip to the desert in 1993. I must have taken over 70 rolls of film on that first trip. I felt like there wasn't enough time to see all of it. So I took photos of everything. As an artist, there's no going back once your eyes have been pried opened. The only thing you can do once that happens is to make the work. If you decide not to make the work, It'll haunt you untill you change your mind.
